Live, work, or play in North Seattle? You’re in luck — getting around just got easier. Uber Seattle is celebrating the launch of the University Link Light Rail by offering riders in Green Lake, Wallingford, The Ave and University Village direct uberHOP routes to and from the new University of Washington Link station all weekend long. The University Link Extension, also referred to as University Link and U Link, is a 3.15-mile (5.07 km) underground light rail extension of Sound Transit’s Link Light Rail system in Seattle, Washington. The line will extend the existing Central Link line from downtown Seattle to the University of Washington via Capitol Hill. The $1.9 billion project was approved by the Federal Transit Administration in November 2006. Construction began in late 2008.
