A powerful explosion struck Bangkok’s central shopping district, with Thai police saying they suspect an improvised explosive device. The blast took place during rush hour Monday evening at Ratchaprasong intersection, which is surrounded by shopping malls, luxury hotels and the Erawan Hindu shrine popular with tourists and locals alike. The explosion rattled windows in office towers several blocks away. The Ratchaprasong intersection has been a central site for political protests in recent years, and a past target for bombings. Uber Bangkok is aware of these issues, and have turned off surge pricing for all Uber Bangkok riders in Thailand so that you can get home safely.
เขตในกรุงเทพจะไม่มีตัวคูณ (Surge pricing) ขึ้นในคืนนี้ ขอให้ทุกท่านเดินทางกลับบ้านอย่างปลอดภัย.
